Music Level 2 BTEC First Diploma at College of North West London (FE)

Course description

This exciting and creative opportunity is targeted at 16+ aspiring music producers and musicians who wish to develop production and musicianship skills. The course is the first step to a career in the industry and successful students will be able to move on to more advanced courses.

Course content

The course includes a number of exciting modules including: • Music Sequencing • Music Composition • Music & Production Analysis • The Music Industry • Professional Music Skills • Research a Music Topic • Music Arrangement • Maintain a Music Product • Composing for Visual Media • Music Promotion • Music Showcase

Entry requirements

You will need English and Maths skills at a suitable level. If you do not have evidence of English and Maths qualifications (eg GCSEs), you will be given an online English and Maths assessment before enrolling.

Assessment

The course is assessed through coursework. If you need to take English and Maths qualifications these will involve online assessments.

Future opportunities

Successful students can progress to a Level 3 Music programme. You will also have basic skills to seek junior employment in the industry, and/or make your own music for pleasure.
