Turkish AS/A2 level at Highbury Grove School

Course description

This specification develops an interest in, and enthusiasm for, language learning. It helps candidates further develop the skills of listening, reading and writing at a level beyond GCSE. They learn about the culture of countries where Turkish is spoken and become able to communicate with people in these countries.

Course content

What will I learn?

This course covers many contemporary issues including society, culture, citizenship and the environment. You will built on your GCSE knowledge in speaking, listening, reading and writing and learn more complex vocabulary and ideas.

How will I be taught?

This course is taught in a classroom using a mixture of group activities, discussions, and practical activities.

Entry requirements

You will need to have GCSE Turkish at grade B or equivalent knowledge of Turkish.

Assessment

100% examination (with papers in reading, essay writing, literature and listening)

Future opportunities

This course equips learners with solid Turkish Language skills which can be used in several career paths. This is particularly important as a community language in Public Services, for instance.
