Electrical Installations Level 1 at Peterborough Regional College
The course covers industrial, commercial, and domestic installations and is ideal if you are interested in a career as an electrician. You will spend time in our simulated working environment.
This Level 1 programme is taught in both the classroom and workshop and can lead to opportunities for further progression or employment.
The course will cover a number of practical skills you will need to start your career. These include: • Understanding the electrical/construction industry • Site preparation • Electrical installation wiring • Basic hand skills • Electrical science and technology
You will need an interest in this subject and a willingness to work hard and provide your school report.
You will be required to purchase your own safety equipment (boots and overalls) prior to starting the course. Details on where to purchase these will be given to you.
Successful completion of this course as well as achieving functional skills English and maths will enable you to progress on to the level 2 programme, or in to employment as an electrical apprentice where you will undertake the level 3 qualification.
You will be required to attend a Welcome Event, details will be provided upon application.
