AS/A2 Sociology at The Deepings School

Course description

The course aims to help students: be aware of current social issues and think about whether you are in control of your destiny, discuss and debate the reasons for the structure of modern society and consider why there is inequality, and is this fair? Think about your own experience of social behaviour while developing the skills to be a more effective participant in the social world and look at the way sociologists carry out research.

Entry requirements

Minimum of 5 GCSEs including a minimum of a grade B in GCSE English Language

Future opportunities

It is a very useful subject for both boys and girls to study in preparation for a wide range of university courses and careers. In particular Law, Police Service, Human Resources Management, Advertising, Social Work and Teaching, as well as many other jobs, find Sociology very beneficial
