Health and Social Care BTEC Extended Diploma Level 3 at Saint Mary's College, Blackburn
The BTEC Extended Diploma course has been designed to provide a broad education as a foundation both for employment and for higher education. The course offers the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and understanding in preparation for entry into the health and social care sector. There is a planned programme of work placement on the course which allows for first hand experience in a range of health and social care environments, such as care homes, day centres and local support networks e.g. Women’s Aid. There is a compulsory placement requirement for the course. The course includes an ‘Appointed Person’s First Aid’ Qualification. You will study a range of subjects or units over the two years including: - Communication Skills - Anatomy and Physiology - Equality and Rights - Health Psychology - Physiological Disorders - Caring for the Individual
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C including English Language grade C.
