English Literature A-Level at London Nautical School

Course description

The Department of English strives to promote the best of the great English literary heritage while actively engaging in vibrant and innovative teaching practices - all in the context of London's South Bank with its abundance of performance and cultural opportunities.

Our students learn in a highly diversified environment where teachers, in consultation with students and their families, devise individual programmes of learning for every class every year. We are proud of the rapid improvement we have achieved with our students over recent years and intend to keep up this momentum into the future with a combination of good old-fashioned academic rigour and attention to every individual, their needs and their passions.

Our department runs a wide range of extra-curricular programmes, including our extraordinary filmmaking club, lunchtime writing groups, a film society, a running group and competitive debating.

We welcome the involvement of the wider community in our work and are happy to hear from you at any time.
