The mandatory synoptic units require learners to apply learning from across the qualification to the completion of defined vocational tasks. For Unit 2: Fitness Training and Programming for Health, Sport and Well-being, learners interpret lifestyle factors and health screening data to develop and justify a fitness training programme and nutritional advice for a client. Learners interpret the data using knowledge and understanding from their studies of the sector and apply both transferable and specialist knowledge and skills.

Entry requirements

Grade B in full course PE and/or evidence of commitment to sport

Assessment

10 units of which 9 are mandatory and 2 units are externally examined

Future opportunities

Students completing this qualification can go on to a wide variety of career paths that lead to: PE teaching, sports and leisure management, sports nutrition, sports psychology, sports massage, physiotherapy, sports science, sports coaching, sports development, nursing, midwifery, outdoor and adventurous management/coaching
