Art (Fine Art) at Cardinal Newman Catholic School

Course description

This Fine Art course will develop your self-confidence and give you an exciting opportunity to explore ideas, materials, processes and techniques in depth. You will be in a learning environment that is rich in stimuli and encourages the development of technical knowledge. You will have a wide range of facilities in photography, print-making, sculpture, painting and mixed media and have access to studio facilities at all times to work outside of lessons.

There is an excellent sense of support and friendship amongst our art students and an open sharing of thoughts and ideas. You will widen your horizons and experiences. preparing you for future studies and associated careers. Examples include interior design, architecture, textile design, fashion design, theatre design, teaching, graphic design, illustration, film and television design.

Students often successfully move on to study Art further at foundation and degree level and then develop successful careers in the above fields.

Entry requirements

The equivalent of atleast five GCSEs at grade C or above
