Vehicle Body Repair and Body Re-finishing Advanced Apprenticeship at Exeter College

Course description

As an Apprentice you will hold a full time job and attend college one day per week throughout the 24 month programme. You will work towards a framework of qualifications which make up the Apprenticeship. This course will launch you directly into the workplace and provides an excellent way to build your career and progress to further training and education.

NVQ: Part of the Apprenticeship framework is the NVQ qualification. The NVQ shows your competence, knowledge, and understanding of business tasks and procedures, and proves you are able to carry out your job to the NVQ standards.

Course content

You will cover some of the following units:

  • Contribute to good housekeeping
  • Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
  • Maintain positive working relationships
  • Remove and replace structural body panels
  • Repair structural body panels

Entry requirements

You will usually have completed the Level 2 Apprenticeship to progress on to the Advanced Apprenticeship.

Assessment

Whilst at work, your Training Officer will visit you and carry out assessments in a variety of styles: observing you; completing knowledge questions; setting practical tasks.

Financial information

You will need safety boots, overalls and recommended text books.

Future opportunities

Once you have completed your Advanced Apprenticeship programme you should be looking to progress to a level 4 training programme.
