Assessment

Assessment

There are two written papers; one is taken in January of Year 12 and one in June.

The January module is 1.5 hours long and is called Politics and Power.

The June module is 1.5 hours long and is called Political Issues: Ideologies in Action. The two modules are aggregated and a total mark is awarded for them. Grading is from E - A. The pass mark is 40% for an E and 80% for an A grade. An A* grade is available, but only if the Year 13 modules are both passed at 90% or better, so outstanding students will be recognised.

Government & Politics can lead to a wide range of higher and further education courses; especially in Politics, Law and the Social Sciences.
