Business level 3 BTEC (single, double or triple award) at Brentside High School

Course description

This practical course consists of a combination of core units and specialist units. Core units studied in single business will include: Exploring Business; Developing a Marketing Campaign; Personal and Business Finance; and Investigating Customer Service. You can choose to extend your studies to double or triple options, the units to be studied will include: Managing an Event; International Business; Principles of Management; Business Decision Making; Recruitment and Selection Process; Team

Building in Business; Investigating Retail Business; Visual Merchandising; Creative Promotion; and Pitching a new Business. You will gain an extensive range of skills in presentation, communication, team working, report writing and business related skills such as customer service, merchandising and interviewing developed through the assessment of the course. 

Entry requirements

Grade C in GCSE English language and high merit in level 2 BTEC business (if taken)

Assessment

The course is assessed by coursework, controlled assessment and written examination.

Future opportunities

Studying business at Level 3 will enable you to follow many business-related courses at university. The course is designed to be both vocational and academic. If you have studied BTEC business employers appreciate that you understand how a business is run. The skills and knowledge you will acquire on the course are well regarded by future employers.
