Maintenance Operations Construction Diploma Level 2 at Stephenson College

Course description

The Maintenance Operations Level 2 is made up of eight units. The Diploma is designed to prepare students for work in particular occupational areas, such as Brickwork, Woodwork, Painting and Decorating, and Basic plumbing.

Course content

You will study a variety of associated tasks of a non-complex nature, individual work programmes with periodic reviews, tutorials, individually assessed tasks and Key Skills. Mandatory units: Carry-out safe working practices in construction, information, quantities and communicating with others, building methods and construction technology, carry-out small scale maintenance trade repairs, carry-out small scale painting, decorating and associated trade repairs, carry-out small scale plastering repairs and carry-out small wood trade repairs. Key Skills Communication and Application of Number.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, you will however need to attend an interview and undertake both diagnostic testing and the CITB Aptitude Test. This ensures your basic skills are at the appropriate level for this course.

Assessment

Progressive assessments of all course elements are carried out on an individual basis. All assessments contribute towards course units which will build for certification. Assessment includes an external theory test and an in college practical test.
