Engineering (Level 3) at Shaftesbury School
Ever wanted to find out how to design and build car motor engine using top of the range machinery? This Level 3 course in Engineering is a 30 - Credit (QCF) qualification that consists of one Mandatory Unit and two Optional Units. It is a one year qualification course that is designed to introduce students to Level 3 Engineering and help you answer the question!The specialist units enable the learner to study particular areas within engineering in depth. The mandatory unit, Health & Safety in the Engineering Workplace, provides the important grounding for all students considering Engineering as a career.The delivery of the programme is underpinned by practical and theoretical subjects that provide an insight into a number of aspects within the field of engineering, including welding technology, fabrication processes and technology and setting and proving mechanical systems in engineering
General entry requirement for Level 3 is 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C incl. English Language and Maths. Subject specific entry requirements: Grade C or above in Resistant Materials or Graphics.
