Music Technology at Rainhill Sixth Form
On the Music Technology course you will develop musical vocabulary, aural perception and theory of music from popular music, jazz, classical music, music from film and television and from around the world. You will need refined listening skills and an ability to listen to music critically. You will gain theoretical knowledge, understanding and practical learning in the management and setting up of a recording studio based on industry requirements. You will develop the knowledge and skills to produce multi-track recordings, mix-down, editing and production processes using computer software, and apply basic concepts and practices employed in digital and analogue sound recording techniques. You will learn about how sound behaves in performance venues and recording studios; explore sound as a waveform and about the physics of sound using formulae and quantifying measurements.
Minimum 5 GCSE's at Grade C including English Language at Grade C. In addition, a minimum grade C from the specific GCSE subject or related subject area.
