Professional Cookery - Level 2 Diploma at Vision West Nottinghamshire College
This course is aimed at those who want to develop their cookery skills and pursue a career as a professional chef. You will study a variety of practical and theoretical units which will develop your skills and knowledge in preparation for employment.

Gain important team-work skills which are essential in a busy food environment
- GCSE maths with at least 3 points (grade D) plus GCSE English with at least 4 points (grade C) OR
- A Level 1 Hospitality and catering qualification OR
- Relevant industry experience
You will need to attend an interview with the tutor before being accepted on to the course. You may also need to supply at least one written reference from a teacher or employer (in some cases two) and/or your current school or college report.
Mature students (those aged 21 or over) who do not have the qualifications required for entry may still be eligible, subject to an interview. Relevant experience, a strong portfolio of work and a commitment to the subject you wish to study may be acceptable for certain courses.
A practical assessment, theoretical assessment - once you have gained sufficient knowledge of the subject, externally set assignments and multiple choice tests.
Employment within a professional kitchen environment via an apprenticeship.
