Course description

How can you make sense of the present unless you have a good understanding of the past?How can you understand Britain today if you’ve never looked at our past?How are you going to change the world if you haven’t investigated how it got to be in the state it’s in already?How are you going to deal with the challenges of the future if you don’t understand the successes and failures of the past? Answer: by taking HistoryThe AS History course covers the History of Britain from 1906-1951 and the Struggle for Civil Rights in the USA 1950-68. At A2 you will go on to explore British History from 1951-2007 and also have the chance to carry out a Historical Enquiry into a period of your own choosing.

Entry requirements

General entry requirement for Level 3 is 5 GCSEs at grades A*-C incl. English Language and Maths. Subject specific entry requirements: Grade B in GCSE English and History (if taken).
