Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Diploma Level 1 at Bradford College

Course description

This course is ideal for 16-19 year olds in post-school education or training, particularly those with limited previous achievements, or for mature students seeking re-entry into employment with insufficient qualifications and/or experience to compete in the job market.


Course content

You will study one Mandatory Unit in Health & Safety plus other Units including:

Engineering Equipment & Materials, Spark Ignition Power Units, Engine Liquid Cooling Systems & Engine Lubrication Systems, Battery & Lighting Systems, Steering & Suspension Systems, Vehicle Braking Systems, Vehicle Inspection, Vehicle Wheels & Tyres, Vehicle Exhaust Systems and Vehicle Ignition Systems.

The course is made up of Modules and Units. Most Units are practical with a small element of classroom work.


Entry requirements

GCSE English and Mathematics at a minimum of G or Functional Skills Level 1

and an interest in motor vehicles.

Applications should be made as soon as possible before September of the year in which the course is due to start.
