Course description

This course offers you the opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge in areas including Photography, Advertising Design & Moving Image.

Course content

The University of the Arts London Diplomas have been designed to provide young people with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to degree level study in Art and Design, into further education and training or into employment.


Our course in Digital Arts offers you the opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge in areas including Photography, Advertising Design & Moving Image. Studying on this new programme will not only equip you with an understanding of some of the most exciting technologies of the 21st century; it will also enable you to develop skills such as planning and organisation, leadership, and effective communication.


The course is taught by a team skilled in communication, photography, advertising design, animation, illustration and film-making.


If you have less that grade C in GCSE English or Maths, you will also study that subject at college.

Entry requirements

To start on this course you need:


Either
4 GCSEs at grades A* to C including a Media, Art or Design subject and either English or Maths (if you have A* to C in English, your Maths grade must be minimum D - or vice versa) 
or
a relevant Level 2 qualification, including English and Maths requirements.


You will be asked to show relevant examples of your work at interview.

Assessment

Continuous assessment throughout the programme.

Future opportunities

After 1 year at Level 3 you can achieve a University of the Arts London (UAL) Level 3 Diploma in Art & Design - Digital Arts. Some students will seek employment but most will apply for the Extended Diploma course (below).


After 2 years at Level 3 you can achieve a University of the Arts London (UAL) Extended Diploma in Art & Design This is equivalent to 3 A Levels. Students will progress onto employment or higher education in areas such as: photography, moving image, and graphic design. Some may wish to go onto higher education programmes provided by The University Centre at Northbrook College, such as our Foundation or BA degrees in Graphic Design, Illustration, Photography and Moving Image Production.
