Where can this lead?
It is an alternative to A-Levels and accepted as an entry requirement for universities and further education colleges and is highly valued by employers. UCAS awards equal tariff points to Level 3 BTECs and A-Levels. A pass mark in a BTEC is equivalent to a C at A-Level, a Merit is equivalent to a B and a Distinction is equivalent to an A.
It is also an excellent qualification to provide relevant skill for those wishing to begin work in the sector.

BTECs are an established and highly successful alternative to general qualifications, suitable for a wide range of learners. As work-related qualifications, they are designed to accommodate the needs of employers as well as allowing progression to university. By nature, BTECs provide a more practical, real-world approach to learning alongside a theoretical background, giving learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment.
