Physical Education at East Leake Academy

Course description

This nationally recognised course accepted by universities is designed for students with sporting ability, combined with a theoretical content. It is an exciting course that covers aspects of Anatomy, Exercise Physiology, Social/Cultural Studies and Skill Acquisition/Psychology. There is a practical exam in two sports in AS and one sport in A2. Students also undertake an oral exam.

This course will be ideal for students looking to move into university or to go into the sporting industry.

Specifi cation Units:

AS = An Introduction to Physical G451 60% AS (30% A2)
AS = Acquiring, developing and evaluating practical skills in Physical Education G452 40% AS (20% A2)

A2 = Principles and concepts across different areas of Physical Education G453 (35% A2)
A2 = The improvement of effective performance and the critical evaluation of practical activities in Physical Education G454 (15% A2)

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English and Maths.
