Outline of the course

·         This is a practical course and an enjoyment for performing is required.

·         You will be completing practical and written tasks in accordance to a given brief, assessment or project.

·         You complete written tasks based on the practical work you will be creating.

·         There will be an externally assessed unit, which will be a performance that the students must undertake.

Units of study:

You will study 6 units in total. The mandatory unit is Performing to an Audience. You will then choose 5 others from this list below.

This unit gives students the experience of performing a role as part of an ensemble presenting rehearsed work to a live audience.

Specialist Units:

You will be able to specialise in your chosen units, which means the course can be tailored to your particular interested.

Entry requirements

Entry Requirements

Entrants to the course must have achieved at least 5 x 9-4 grades at GCSE subjects. Grade 6 preferred in GCSE English.

Assessment

Assessment

Students are assessed through a combination of written examination, practical performance and portfolio work. Students will gain many opportunities to perform to live audiences.

Students can go on to study a wide variety of academic and vocational courses in HE with this qualification, and/ or go into a wide variety of careers in which communication skills are important, for example Performing Arts, Film & Media, Law and Education.
