Geography AS and A2 Level at Cheltenham Bournside School and Sixth Form Centre
Where are floods most likely to occur? How is the population changing in different regions of the world? How can conflicts about use of resources be managed? These and many more issues will be considered by students.
We aim to develop an appreciation of the dynamic nature of contemporary Geography. The A-level course builds upon the learning established at GCSE, including both familiar and new topics. Students will research information, solve problems and conduct practical fieldwork.
Students will have the opportunity to take part in various fieldwork activities. Fieldwork studies will be analysed in preparation for written examination as assessment is 100% by written examination.
Geography at Bournside ensures coverage of both human and physical processes, issues and debates. Geography keeps doors open with students gaining humanities, literacy, numerical and scientific skills.
Students must have achieved a grade C at GCSE in Geography.
Fieldwork studies will be analysed in preparation for written examination as assessment is 100% by written examination.
Geography students are able to apply their skills to achieve success in many different careers including commerce, scientific services, planning, travel, tourism, journalism, development, environmental management and conservation.
