AS/A2 Physical Education at The Deepings School

Course description

A Level PE covers a range of topics that help us understand the science behind being a top-level athlete, the history of sport and current affairs within sport. Topics covered include anatomy and physiology, sports psychology, and the social and cultural issues involved in sport. The course also looks at the student in a practical situation taking up two roles in sport from performer, coach or official. It must be understood that the course is more heavily weighted on theory - though this is often taught through practical methods. The course prepares students for a move into higher education and the world of work
