Level 1 CACHE Diploma in Caring for Children at Telford College Of Arts And Technology - TCAT

Course description

If you want to get a job working with babies and children this is ideal
for you.
 
You’ll spend three days a week in college learning about:
 
• growth and development of young children
• healthy eating for families
• practical Health and Safety
• forest school
• respecting and valuing young children
• supporting babies’ play
• listening and talking with a young child
• craft activities for children
• science activities for children
• preparing your next steps
• sharing learning experiences with children
 
You‘ll get work experience or an external work placement which we
plan with you at the start of your course so that it leads you towards
the kind of childcare career you want. As you will be working with
babies and young children you will need to get a DBS check which
we pay for.
 
You will also have the opportunity to study English and/or maths
if you haven’t achieved a C grade in those subjects.
 
A personal tutor will help you with your course

Entry requirements

2 GCSEs E/F including English 

Assessment

There’s no exam, but you will work towards completing an
assignment for each unit and if you do well you can move on to
a Level 2 course

Progression to the CACHE Introduction to Early Years Education and
Care Level 2.
