Course content

During the course you will study a range of advanced skills including: · Developing a corporate image in the floristry business · Marketing and promotion · Advanced floral decorating · International designs · Interior landscaping · Advanced business procedures · Period décor · Industrial experience · Study skills · Entitlement

Entry requirements

National Certificate in Floristry Level 2 or City & Guilds Level 2 qualification or equivalent. An acceptable standard of maths and English plus workplace experience is also required.


Units are assessed by a combination of written and practical assignments. There is an external theory test that is set to cover the contents of all units. You will also be required to work independently on set assignments at home. You will also be required to complete an end of year exam.

Future opportunities

You may wish to progress onto a higher level qualification i.e. HNC in floristry or you may wish seek employment at a supervisory level in a florists, garden centre or set up your own business

Further information

You will need a camera to collect evidence to develop your portfolio. You will also need a florist’s tool kit. Basic plant and flower material will be provided at cost price to students. Also, work placement is an integral part of this course.
