Electrical Systems NVQ Diploma at The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London

Course description

This course will give you the core technical knowledge and practical skills for you to gain the skills needed for Level 2. It will show you how to install electrical systems and equipment.  The theory side of the course will give you a good understanding of electrical science, information technology, health and safety, communications and numeracy. 

After the first year, you should be able to connect and fix electrical accessories, route and fix wiring systems and enclosures within an installation. On completion of the second year, you should be able to fully install wiring systems, fix wiring enclosures and carry out the basic testing for electrical circuits.

Course content

This qualification will see you be supported in your learning by practical skills development and demonstrations. Classroom activities will be related to the workshop activities to contextualise the topic contents

Entry requirements

You will need 4 GCSEs at grade D-G and a Level 1 qualification at Pass grade in Electrical Systems,. You will attend an interview, pass an initial assessment for maths & English and have a good reference

Assessment

You will complete a number of online exams and classroom tests as well as completing a range of practical assessments in the workshops

Future opportunities

You will progress onto level 3 electrical but ideally an apprenticeship.
