Retail Skills Level 2 Apprenticeship at Kent Training & Apprenticeships
This Apprenticeship will help you develop skills and knowledge to provide a professional and effective supporting role in a retail environment.
As part of your Apprenticeship you will work with others and gain experience in a range of work functions.
It is aimed that by the end of your Apprenticeship you will be working with some autonomy and personal responsibility.
You will work towards the achievement of the Level 2 Certificate in Retail Skills and Level 2 Certificate in Retail Knowledge. This will embed Personal Learning and Thinking Skills which will help you reflect on your learning and practice.
All Apprentices complete an e-portfolio to demonstrate competence and knowledge.
The following are some of the topics covered:
• Receive goods and materials into storage.
• Put goods and materials into storage.
• Keep stock on sale at required levels.
• Process customer order for goods.
• Process returned goods and materials.
• Prepare products for sale to customers.
Functional Skills at Level 1, maths, English are a required component of the Apprenticeship, these are exam based and course work is delivered by a combination of remote assessment and one to one support.
Achievement of Employee Rights and Responsibilities knowledge will also be a requirement of the Apprenticeship. This ensures the understanding of aspects around employment and legislation, which relate to the work in this area.
This will require you to stay on programme for 12 months.
We require all prospective candidates to take an initial assessment of Literacy and Numeracy. You will be required to have an interview to ensure that the programme is the right one for you.
All Apprentices will have direct observation within the work place, by their assessor to enable them to collate evidence and show competency.
All Apprentices be expected to collect relevant evidence, complete assignments, obtain witness testimonies and information to provide evidence specific to the job role.
The national minimum wage for apprentices is £2.73 per hour. Some employers will pay more and some will pay travel expenses.
On completion of this qualification, the learner may choose to study further qualifications specific to their work role progress to the next Level or CPD activities.
