Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children's and Young People's Setting Diploma Level 1 at New College Stamford
This course will develop your knowledge and awareness of the types of provision available in the Health and Social Care and Childcare sectors such as:Learning DisabilitySensory LossMental HealthYou will learn the roles played by care workers, principles and values, health and safety and develop your ability to work with others.This course is approximately 20% theory and 80% practical.
You will learn through avariety of learning methods including written assessment, professional discussion, presentations, group and practical activities.You will be required to complete a minimum of 30 hours work experience to support your studies.
There are no formal entry requirements but an interview is necessary.
You will be assessed by ongoing assessment throughout your course.
This course will give you the opportunity to gain insight into the industry before making decisions about career progression.After successful completion of this course you can progress on to the Health and Social Care or Early years Education and Care Diplomas Level 2,a Children and Young People’s Apprenticeship, or employment in the industry.
Students will need to have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Certificate ‘with no grounds that a student is professionally unsuitable to undertake professional practice or placement’.
