Art and Design A level at Park View Community School

Course description

The art and design (photography and fine art) course offers well motivated students the opportunity to develop creative and practical skills. Students are encouraged to develop and research their own ideas; experiment with new media and processes; develop visual awareness and personal creative skills; learn about other artists past and present; establish a portfolio of work and achieve success.

Entry requirements

Students require GCSE art and design grades A-B. Equally important is a desire to learn and an interest in the subject.

Future opportunities

Acceptance onto (non-art) degree courses.

Acceptance on to higher education art and design foundation, GNVQ and degree courses.

Careers in industrial design, display, furniture design, product design, textiles, graphics, fashion, design, crafts, jewellery design, ceramics, film and television, media studies, photography, printing industry, architecture, advertising, teaching and lecturing, art restoration, art history.
