Travel and Tourism Level 2 BTEC First Diploma at Matravers School

Course description

BTEC Firsts in Travel and Tourism for Level 2 learners provide a broad, solid foundation for progression to Level 3 and employment in the travel and tourism sector. BTECs are vocationally related qualifications where learners develop knowledge and understanding by applying their learning and skills in a work-related context. Additionally, they are popular and effective because they encourage leaners to take responsibility for their own learning and to develop skills that are essential for the modern-day workplace.

Future opportunities

Students are required to achieve at least a merit in the qualification (equivalent of a grade B) to progress on to the BTEC Sunsidiary Diploma in Travel and Tourism. There are many career opportunities within the travel and tourism industry including employment as overseas representatives, cabin crew and airline support, retail and tour operators, visitor attractions, hospitality providers and local government.
