Mechanical and Plumbing Apprenticeship at SSE Services PLC

Course description

In a Mechanical Apprenticeship your work will range from installing boilers, pumps, isolating valves and radiators together with maintenance and remedial work. Within this role you’ll be taught how to cut, measure and install pipe work, including piping up to boilers, radiators, connecting pumps, isolation valves and welding for various sizes of steel pipes. 

Entry requirements

No specific work experience is required for our apprentice programme.

However you’ll need 4 GCSE’s grade A-C / Nationals at grade 4-5 (previously Standard grade 3 or above) in Maths, English and a Science or craft subject.

Depending on the course you choose, you may be required to take an Ishihara Colour Vision test.
