Level 3 Music at Dover Christ Church Academy

Course description

This course is equivalent to one A level.

This is a 2 year course in which students will develop skills in a broad range of disciplines linked to Music Performance on their instrument.

Entry requirements

Anyone with an interest in music.  Previous instrumental experience is helpful, but not a necessity, provided that you are willing to work on developing your skills through singing or playing an instrument during the course. A GCSE in Music grade A* - D or a successful interview with the Head of Department.

Future opportunities

This course would be perfect preparation for higher education vocational courses such as BTEC Higher Nationals in Music Performance or Performing, a degree in popular music, music practice or music production.  You could also go on to study a related NVQ at level 3 or 4, which could be work-based.  With further training, you could go into a job related to music such as a Music Technician or a Music Teacher.  The course could also help you with performing music.  The course provides a work related programme of study so you could go straight into a job as it helps you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers are looking for, especially in the music industries.
