Art and Design (Photography) AS/A-Level at Shire Oak Academy

Course description

Photography at A level is an Art and Design based course.

Course content

During Year 12 pupils will develop their skills in preparation for the externally set exam paper. The exam will make up 100% of the pupils AS grade.

A2 in Year 13 consists of two units, a coursework personal investigation unit worth 60% which includes a 3000 word essay and an externally set exam worth 40% of pupils A2 grade.

Entry requirements

It is advisable that pupils have studied Photography or Art at GCSE level and have achieved grade A* -C.

Future opportunities

A level Photography will give students the opportunity to develop their knowledge, understanding and creative skills within Art and Design, using Photography as a medium to explore and develop their individual ideas.
