Biology at Brentwood County High School
Biology is a science in which experimental work forms an essential part of the course of study. It is often necessary for students to handle material of living origin and the observation of dissected material may be necessary. The course involves lectures, laboratory work and field work. You are expected to attend a one-week ecology course at a Field Study Centre, which is used to collect data to support the A2 course.
The key topic areas are: Biology and Disease and The Variety of Living Organisms for AS level and Populations and Environment and Control in Cells and in Organisms for A2. You also complete one piece of coursework in each year.
Students must have at least grade B in the subjects chosen for study
Must have at least grade C in English.
