Health & Social Care - Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma at Yorkshire Coast College
This programme is for ideal for learners who have either successfully completed BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or who wish to study Health & Social Care at a higher level.
An Extended Diploma is a practical, work-related programme where assignments will be based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.
The course will include the following units:
- Research Perspective
- Safeguarding Adults and Promoting Independence
- Promoting Health Education
- Values and Planning in Social Care
- Physiological Disorders
- Vocational Experience for Health and Social Care
5 GCSEs at Grade C or above including Maths & English. Level 2 Health & Social Care (Merit profile). Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People Workforce. Please note - you must complete a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check on application.
After successful completion of the Level 2 Extended Diploma you may carry on your studies and progress to study for a Certificate in Higher Education or even a Foundation Degree, both of which are now available at Yorkshire Coast College.
There are endless possibilities for a career in Health and Social Care in our region, with many of our learners choosing to go straight into full-time careers list Residential or Private Care, or even working in one of the regions many Hospitals.
The local average wage on entry in to a career in Health and Social Care - depend on qualification – is £11,000 - £18,000.
