Physics A Level at North Bromsgrove High School

Course description

Physics is the most fundamental of the sciences, with its ultimate goal being to understand all aspects of our universe, from the apparently simple, such as the motion of a dropped object, to the highly complex, like the search for the Higgs Boson at CERN. This course is for those who want to know just how and why the natural world works as it does.

Module 1 - Development of practical skills in physics.

Module 2 - Foundations in physics

Module 3 - Forces and motion

Module 4 - Electrons, waves and photons

Module 5 - Newtonian world and astrophysics

Module 6 – Particles and medical physics

Entry requirements

- Standard entry requirements.
- A grade B or above in GCSE physics module.
- A grade 6 or above in mathematics.
- Students must have good written communication skills.
