Performing Arts (Acting and Dance) Level 2 at Peterborough Regional College

Course description

This course is perfect for any student who wants to progress onto a level 3 course in either dance or acting. You will work for a year on a selection of units across dance and acting, helping you develop not only your skill set, but also your confidence as a performer. Complete the level 2 and progress onto your chosen level 3 course in order to follow a route that could lead to study at a higher level and on to a career within the performing arts industry.

Course content

Modules include: • Acting skills • Dance skills • Individual showcase • Devising performance work • Exploring urban dance • Performing scripted plays

Entry requirements

4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above or other level 1 qualification. You will also need to come along for an audition before starting this course.

Financial information

You will need to be available for evening rehearsals and performances throughout the course. You will need appropriate clothing for practical sessions (to be discussed at interview) and there will also be theatre visit costs.

 

Future opportunities

If you pass the course at Merit level, you can then apply to progress to a level 3 qualification in your chosen subject area e.g. acting, dance or technical theatre. This can then lead on to study at a higher level or on to a career within the performing arts industry.

Further information

You will be required to attend a Welcome Event – details will be provided upon application. At this time a second date will given for an audition where a practical activity will take place.
