Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Intermediate Apprenticeship at Eastleigh College
This L2 qualification is designed to provide a standardised approach for the delivery and assessment of the competence and knowledge requirements. This VCQ also forms the integral component of the IMI SSC Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship framework (for Light Vehicle).
The Motor Vehicle department boasts outstanding facilities, including an MOT test station, the latest diagnostic equipment and interactive learning aids. Programmes are available at levels suitable for the needs and abilities of all students.
This VCQ is an integral part of IMI SSC Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship Framework (Light Vehicle Route). Therefore learners (normally aged 16-25) who are keen to build a career in the industry can take this VCQ as part of the Apprenticeship framework.
Once you have enrolled onto the programme you will be assigned an assessor that will visit you in the workplace regularly.

The knowledge component of this qualification is also independently assessed via online testing. The tests are mapped to each knowledge unit's learning outcomes and assessment criteria to ensure coverage. These tests are marked electronically by IMI Awards.
This qualification forms the knowledge component (technical certificate) of the IMI SSC Maintenance and Repair Apprenticeship framework (for the Light Vehicle). When an apprentice has achieved a L2 Apprenticeship, they can then choose to broaden their education and training in other ways from this firm base.
