Multi-skills C&G Level 1 at Hackney Community College

Course description

This City & Guilds course is made up of individual units designed to build up your practical skills before embarking on a higher-level course in construction. Multi-skills is a practical-based course, where you will study units in brickwork, and painting and decorating. You will undertake practical assessments and learn about tools, materials, health and safety, plus basic construction methods and techniques. Functional Skills in maths and English are built into the course.


Course content

Theory work will be done in classrooms and practical sessions will be conducted in fully-equipped workshops.


Entry requirements

Entry level 3 in English and maths.


Financial information

·         16-18 year-olds do not have to pay tuition fees on FE courses

·         many 16-18 year-olds may be eligible to receive a bursary

·         many 16-18 year-olds can receive a Free College Meals pass (depending on eligibility)

·         Transport for London student travel cards are available.

·         Re-sits, CRB fees and other incidental costs are to be paid when due.

Future opportunities

Level 1 Diploma in Brickwork, Carpentry and Joinery, Painting and Decorating or Plumbing.
