Graphic Communication at Denefield School

Course description

The four assessment objectives reflect the subject criteria for art in the areas of skills, knowledge and understanding which candidates demonstrate through their studies. They have been grouped into four practical and conceptual domains of learning. Candidates should be able to:

  • record observations, experiences, ideas, information and insights in visual and other forms, appropriate to intentions;
  • analyse and evaluate critical sources such as images, objects, artefacts and texts, showing understanding of purposes, meanings and contexts;
  • develop ideas through sustained investigations and exploration, selecting and using relevant materials, processes and resources, identifying and interpreting relationships and analysing methods and outcomes;

  • Entry requirements

    To study the full range of AS Level subjects you will need to have achieved an average of 46 points from your GCSE qualifications (mostly B grades +) and, a minimum of B grades in science and/or mathematics should you be applying to study these subjects.
