Sections 1-5 as above, an additional option module and then:

  • 6 Further mechanics and thermal physics
  • 7 Fields and their consequences
  • 12 Turning points in physics

Entry requirements

The general entry requirement for the Sixth Form applies. This should include minimum GCSE grade B in Science and Maths.

Future opportunities

A level physics is a stepping stone to a huge range of degrees of employments. From telecommunications, medicine and engineering through to Meteorology Astronomy and climate change to name but a few. The holder of an A level physics qualification demonstrates tenacity and determination to succeed, an ability to problem solve and understand difficult concepts, sound mathematical skills to any potential employer – regardless of the type of employment sought.
