Accountancy Apprenticeship - Level 2 at Redcar & Cleveland College
This framework has been designed to enable you and your employer to work together on the delivery of an individual training programme which will ensure that the relevant occupational and industry specific skills are acquired.
The current Accounting Framework is:
Induction Programme Employment Responsibilities and Rights (ERR) Workbook.
- This covers the rights and responsibilities of workers (including equal opportunities legislation).
- The organisation, disciplines and representatives structures of the industries concerned.
- The impact on the sector of public law and policies.
Functional Skills are skills that will help you become an effective member of staff in any place of work. They help you to become flexible and adaptable and therefore a highly valued member of the team.
The Functional Skills required for the framework are:
- Maths Level 1
- English Level 1
Successful completion of these functional skills is essential to complete the framework.
AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting All units are mandatory:
- Basic Accounting 1.
- Basic Accounting 2.
- Basic Costing.
- Computerised Accounting.
- Work effectively in Accounting & Finance.
- Professional Ethics.
To qualify for the Apprenticeship you must secure employment in the area of accountancy which will enable you to achieve AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting. You will also need a reasonably good standard of education (4 GCSEs at grade D or above) and a good standard of literacy and numeracy is required. This will be assessed to support your application and to establish any support needs you may have.
Most of our apprentices continue to be employed at the end of the apprenticeship. There are good opportunities for self-employment or perhaps progression to an Advanced Apprenticeship.
