Course description

The Media Pathway (Television and Film) fo this qualification includes the following topics:

  • 2D animation
  • Single camera techniques
  • Music video production
  • Film studies
  • Film and video editing techniques
  • Soundtrack production
  • Stop-motion animation production
  • Designing idents for television
  • Photography and photographic practices
  • Multi-camera techniques
  • Media research
  • Advertisement production for television
  • Understanding the television and film industries

 

To enhance employment opportunities the course may also have additional qualifications built into the programme.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs at grade A*- C including English, Maths and preferably Science or a Level 2 course at Merit level or above.

Assessment

The course is continuously assessed by both practical and written assignments and tests to demonstrate competence.

Financial information

If you are aged 16-18, tuition and registration fees are free. 
If you are aged 19 or over, tuition and registration fees are payable at the start of each year of study; please ask for details.
If you are aged 24 or over, you may be eligible for a Student Loan to assist with your fees; please ask for details.
