Music Level 2 Extended Certificate at Carshalton College
This course is aimed at those who wish to gain a grounding in music recording and creation, who would wish to eventually work in one of these industries.
The course enables you to develop your practical skills in music technology. Your main focus is music recording and production, with written work closely supporting your practical study.

- Exploring an Area of Music
An average of Grade D for four or more GCSEs, including English Language, or you will have successfully completed a Level 1 vocational programme, and Level 1 Functional Skills English.
You may also be asked to demonstrate your commitment and musical skills in an interview.
Most of the course is continuously assessed. For coursework, students must research, produce written reports and evaluations and show evidence of planning and organisation.
Students will undertake a literacy and/or numeracy programme depending on prior attainment in these areas.
Part of your planned programme of study at Carshalton College gives you the opportunity to take part in an enrichment activity. These activities are designed to help with your personal development and should be treated as a very important part of your studies.
Successful completion of this Level 2 course will give you access Level 3 courses such as the BTEC Extended Diploma in Music Technology.
