Health and Social Care Level 3 BTEC Extended Certificate at Shire Oak Academy

Course description

The course is very practical and relevant to the world of health and social care work. It will give you the opportunity to gain specific knowledge, understanding and skills that are relevant to many careers.

Course content

The course will consist of four units, two externally examined and two coursework based which are internally assessed.

  • Human Lifespan Development - Exam
  • Working in Health and Social Care - Exam
  • Meeting Individual Care & Support Needs - Coursework
  • Physiological Disorders and their care - Coursework

It will help you develop you as an individual, allow you to become part of a group and give you an opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives.

Entry requirements

A genuine interest in the vocational area is essential together with at least 5 GCSE grades A* - C.

Future opportunities

There are numerous occupations that you can enter with this qualification. These include: teaching, care home manager, carer, nursery work, play worker, social work, counselling, nursing, midwifery etc.
