Computer Science A Level at Queen Mary's College

Course description

The course teaches the fundamentals of Computational Science using programming as a platform to develop problem-solving skills. Students will learn about the underlying logic within a computer system. Many great challenges lie in the future for Computer Scientists to solve. This course, with its emphasis on abstract thinking, general problem-solving, algorithmic and mathematical reasoning, scientific and engineering-based thinking, is a good foundation for understanding these future challenges.

Assessment

AS Level, 2 exams, one of them with practical programming content done at a PC. A2 Level, 1 written examination paper (60%) and 1 project (40%)
