Business Studies (Ctec available as single or double option) at Ryde Academy

Course description

This two year course is designed to provide an understanding of Business in a vocational environment.  Throughout the course, students will develop a range of skills desirable in the workplace and in higher education: independent investigation, giving presentations, interpreting data and marketing and sales skills to name but a few.

The CTech course allows students to be fully in control of their own destiny.  The 100% coursework format allows students to investigate areas of business that interest them and we have a good track record of students exceeding their target grades because of this.

CTechs are a new qualification, very similar to BTecs, but with enhanced support offered by OCR.  They are fully recognised by UCAS and have equivalent UCAS points to traditional A Level and vocational courses.

In addition to your class work, you will have the opportunity to experience a range of business environments through visits and enterprise projects.  Previous years activities have included sales skills with the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, factory visits to AJ Wells, HTP and GKN as well as a range of personalised work placements.  There is scope for international work experience in 2013 in Spain.
