Business and Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship at Kent Training & Apprenticeships

Course description

The Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration Apprenticeship will help you develop skills and knowledge to provide a professional and effective supervisory role in an office environment.

It is designed to reflect the work of administration staff across a wide range of industries and organisations.

As part of your Apprenticeship you will work as a team and lead on specific aspects, to ensure the provision of information and resources to others.

Course content

You will work towards the achievement of the QCF Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration, this includes technical knowledge and embeds Personal Learning and Thinking Skills. All Apprentices complete an e-portfolio to demonstrate competence and knowledge.

The following are topics that will be covered:

•Communicate in a business environment

•Manage personal and professional development

•Principles of business communication and information

•Principles of administration

•Principles of business

Functional Skills at Level 2,  maths, English and ICT are a requirement component of the Apprenticeship, these are exam based and course work is delivered by a combination of remote assessment and one to one support.

A unit in Employee Rights and Responsibilities will also be a requirement of the Apprenticeship. This helps the Apprentice understand the aspects of employment, issues and legislation that relates to their work.

It is expected that you will complete this programme within 15 months.

Entry requirements

We require all prospective candidates to take an initial assessment of Literacy and Numeracy. You will be required to have an interview to ensure that the programme is the right one for you.

Assessment

All Apprentices will have direct observation within the work place, by their assessor to enable them to collate evidence and show competency.

All Apprentices be expected to self-study, undertake research, provide reflective accounts and evidence specific to the job role.

Financial information

The national minimum wage for apprentices is £2.73 per hour. Some employers will pay more and some will pay travel expenses.

Future opportunities

The course offers you a specialist work-based qualification to support a range of careers in business and administration or to progress onto studying for an NVQ level 4 in business and administration or an HND in a related subject such as hospitality management.

With further training, you could continue to develop your career in business and administration by getting a job within marketing, finance or human resources.

The course is work based which means you can earn and learn whilst developing basic business skills, understanding and knowledge, which many employers and are looking for.

 

On completion of this qualification, we can offer the candidate information and guidance regarding their next steps. The candidate may choose to study further qualifications specific to their work role or CPD activities.
