Further Mathematics - A-Level at Pendleton Sixth Form College

Course description

This course gives talented students the opportunity to have fun extending their mathematics knowledge by sampling some university-level material. It is also a modern mathematics course where the emphasis is on making maths relevant and interesting. This course is available as a full A level, or as an AS level done in either year of study.

Course content

In further maths you will study pure mathematics, decision mathematics, statistics and mechanics at a more conceptually advanced level than A level mathematics. The further mathematics group is usually a collection of high achieving, highly motivated and very able students. It allows the teacher to set a good pace and provide very challenging problems for you to solve. If you like mathematics and fancy a challenge, then this is definitely the course for you.
