Barbering Intermediate Apprenticeship Level 2 at Gloucestershire College

Course description

This course gives you the underpinning knowledge and skills on learning how to deliver gents’ barbering.

These skills form a vital platform for any person wishing to become a Barber. This is a vocational qualification which focuses on commercial timings and standards and all practical assessments are carried out in our commercial salons on paying clients.

As part of the course you will also study the theory of barbering.

Course content

Your studies will include:

  • Cutting techniques
  • styling men’s hair
  • trimming beards and moustaches
  • advanced techniques

Entry requirements

You will require

  • 3 GCSE grade A* - D in English Language plus 2 others
  • or a completed level 1 Hairdressing with L1 Functional Skills English and Maths.

This course is aimed at those wanting a specialised direction into Gents Hairdressing Skills or already qualified in Ladies Hairdressing to add to their existing skill-set and client base

Assessment

The qualification is based on continuous training and assessment or practical skills, with supportive evidence in the form of either online testing or written evidence of end of module tests and assignment writing.

Future opportunities

Once you've completed the course successfully, you may progress onto the NVQ level 3 course in Barbering.
